Legacy’s COVID-19 Update: September 27, 2020

Effective Monday September 28, 2020 Legacy Behavioral Health Services will be resuming normal clinic hours from 8 AM – 5 PM in our Lowndes, Cook and Tifton Outpatient clinics.  We will continue to offer telehealth services and will resume face to face operations.  Social distancing guidelines and required face coverings will be practiced.  Our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Day Programs as well as our Nashville outpatient will continue to remain closed at this time.

Legacy’s COVID-19 Update: March 22, 2020

Legacy Behavioral Health Services provides essential services to 8,000 of our communities’ residents. During this time, we are especially mindful of the importance of continuing to meet their behavioral health needs. In order to comply with the social distancing recommendations provided by CDC and local public health officials, effective Monday, March 23, 2020, we will make the following adjustments to our sites and/or services:

  • Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinics will be accepting new clients with walk in availability and will be seeing previously scheduled appointments with reduced hours. We have implemented approved telehealth methods for our providers and our clinical staff to continue delivery of services with minimal interruptions.
    • Lowndes, Tifton and Cook clinics will remain OPEN Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
    • Berrien clinic will be temporarily CLOSED.
  • Behavioral Health Crisis Center will remain OPEN 24/7.
  • Residential services will remain OPEN.
  • ACT services will remain OPEN.
  • Intellectual and Developmental Disability Day Programs will remain closed until further notice.
  • The Peer Support Center will remain closed until further notice.

Legacy’s COVID-19 Information: March 13, 2020 

As the leading provider of behavioral health and developmental disabilities within our ten-county service area, we are committed to maintaining the safety of the individuals served, staff and visitors as we navigate the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis. We continue to closely monitor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Public Health (DPH) to stay up to date with the latest information. 

If you have recently traveled to areas where there are ongoing outbreaks of Coronavirus/COVID-19, have developed fever with cough or shortness of breath, and/or you have had contact with someone who is suspected to have COVID-19, please call to reschedule your appointment and call your healthcare provider.

If you need medication refills and/or an injection, please call your local clinic and speak to staff who will assist you in coordinating this request.  If you feel like you are in crisis or are experiencing suicidal thoughts, you may call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225.

LBHS continues to urge the public to follow the CDC guidelines below:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
