Can I receive mental health/substance use disorder services if I am uninsured or underinsured with little to no income?

Yes! Legacy Behavioral Health (LBH) is a public safety net provider, serving individuals who may be low income or have little to no financial resources.   Services are provided by LBH to all individuals regardless of ability to pay. For individuals who are uninsured or underinsured, our services are provided on a sliding fee scale based on an individual’s adjusted monthly income. Your first visit will include a financial assessment to help determine which costs, if any, may apply to the services you will receive.  In addition, Legacy Behavioral Health provides services to individuals with state and federal benefits such as Georgia Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage plans.

Does Legacy Behavioral Health accept private health insurance?

Legacy Behavioral Health does accept most in-network private insurances that provide mental health/substance use disorder benefits. Each insurance plan has unique coverage criteria, copays and deductibles.  Please bring your health insurance card with you for each visit.  Our clerical staff will verify your specific coverage before or during your first visit and will inform you of the anticipated cost. Prior to your first visit, we urge you to contact your health insurance carrier’s customer service line to determine the level of mental health/substance use disorder benefits available to you. Out of pocket costs will vary significantly between insurance carriers and plans and are subject to your insurance plan deductibles, copays, and/or coinsurance amounts.  All out of pocket costs are due at the time of service.

What services are full fee and not billable to the State or any Insurance?
