Residential Services

Legacy Behavioral Health provides quality residential services to adults with a severe and persistent mental illness and/or addictive disease disorders. We seek to provide a safe and stable housing environment to assist our residents in learning independent living skills to keep them from returning to the hospital, jail, or the streets. The ultimate goal is to prepare individuals for more independent living.

Our residential staff provide 24/7 awake support and overnight staff, medication observation, transportation, linkage to community resources and crisis support services. Staff provides a variety of skills training to meet the needs of the individuals served. Skills training may include: coping skills, medication education, household maintenance, personal hygiene maintenance, communication skills, anger management, psychiatric and substance use education.

Housing Services

Legacy Behavioral Health manages the Georgia Housing Voucher Program (GHVP) for the 58 counties in DBHDD’s Regions 4 and 5.  The GHVP supports community integration by providing immediate access to a housing subsidy while promoting housing as a foundation of recovery, active engagement, and person-centeredness. 

The GHVP serves adults with a severe and persistent mental illness in the following counties:  

Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Bleckley, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Calhoun, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Dodge, Dougherty, Early, Echols, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Grady, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Lee, Liberty, Long, Lowndes, McIntosh, Miller, Mitchell, Montgomery, Pierce, Pulaski, Seminole, Tattnall, Telfair, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Toombs, Treutlen, Turner, Ware, Wayne, Wheeler, Wilcox, and Worth.
